€450 million is the amount of investment for a renewable hydrogen production unit in Carling-Saint-Avold (Moselle). “This region is particularly conducive to the establishment of hydrogen production units,” explains Antoine Huard, CEO of Verso Energy, in an interview with France 3 Lorraine.
“On one hand, it’s an industrial territory with a rich industrial history. Here, we can find expertise, infrastructure, available land, and perhaps a more favorable acceptance from local stakeholders. It’s also a border territory connected to a very important infrastructure project called MosaHyc, a network that will transport hydrogen in the Grand Est region and connect with Germany and Luxembourg. This project is very important because it will enable the connection between hydrogen producers and consumers, who are primarily industrial players in need of this hydrogen for decarbonization,” explains Antoine Huard.
