After the Hyliko truck used to transport small electric vehicles for the Olympics, Toyota continues to reveal more information. The manufacturer has just released photos of retrofitted buses and coaches.
Some of the athletes and all of Toyota’s guests will be travelling in buses and coaches powered by the group’s hydrogen fuel cell. On his LinkedIn account, Cedric Borremans – Mr Olympics at Toyota Motor Europe – announced that he had received approval and congratulations from the French authorities for 2 hydrogen wheelchair Paralympic buses. They will enable the entire wheelchair basketball team and the wheelchair rugby team to travel as a team in zero-emissions mode during the Games.
For Paris 2024, Toyota will be deploying buses produced by Caetano (in which it is a shareholder). It will also be incorporating buses retrofitted by GCK (which also supplies a hydrogen refuelling station) from the Be green fleet. Toyota extends its thanks to Hysetco, which will also make its network of stations available, and to Air Liquide, which will supply low-carbon hydrogen or hydrogen from renewable sources with certificates.
